Coming up on Thursday, August 11th, the Mad Poets is excited to bring the mixed-genre fun back to Milkboy with two great featured readers: Janet Spangler will bring the poetry & Christine Weiser will rock the fiction. As always, we’ll start at 7p with the featured readers and finish out the evening with our eclectic open mic. Our open mic contest is still underway, so bring your own poems & you could have a shot at a featured slot this December!
Here’s a little more about the featured readers.
Janet Spangler grew up in Washington, DC, but later kept on the move, living in California, Connecticut, New York, Arizona, New Mexico, Turkey, and Mexico.  Along the way  she has been a reporter/photographer for the “Albuquerque News,” taught English as a Second Language in Turkey, and co-authored a fund-raising textbook.  She finally made it to Philadelphia and began writing poetry.  She has been a featured reader at Robin’s (now Moonstone Arts Center), the Tyme Gallery, Harvest Books, the Green Line series, and others.
