Shameless Self-Promotion is Back
…was it ever gone? you ask.
Well, from this site it has been. Because I’ve totally fallen down on my job of kicking the shamelessness into action each Monday.
But no more. Fire away kids. Got a reading coming up? New series starting off in the fall? A workshop or class? A book or CD? Tell the blogosphere about it.
And don’t forget, be as shameless as you need to be.

I’ll kick us off:
This Saturday 8/11, I’ll be leading a free & open poetry workshop at the Big Blue Marble Bookstore in Mt. Airy from 1-3pm. Bring about 5-7 copies of a poem for an penetrating, yet pleasant, critique.
In the spirit of self-promotion and bubbling over with joy, I’ll share my news: Finishing Line Press will publish my chapbook, Inscapes, this fall or early 2008! Thursday August 9th 7-9pm…bring your words:poetry, prose/music/small theater pieces etc..menus of ideas….we are going to kick off raise the roof charities..dedicated to raise the awareness/volunteership/money of one charity per month as well. Bring your Fringe Festival ideas for next year too.

Well, where to begin? Met Larry Meistrich and his wonderful assistant Stefano Bonaretti at a Philly Writers MeetUp Group and will be pitching 3 novels and a screenplay to him (Meistrich produced Slingblade along with a slew of other films) …. Have 3 books of poetry (STEVEN, FAMOUS FACES, SOUL WORK) and 2 novels (THE JOURNEY, DETECTIVE FICTION) available on Lulu.com …. My new virtual assistant is typing up novel number three as we speak, soon to also be on Lulu.com …. Upcoming on August 22 being interviewed by Tuck Self as part of her “Rebel Belle with Balls” series ….. Interviewing Poet Laureate of the United States Donald Hall on my radio show August 21st at 8 p.m. (www.internetvoicesradio.com) …. http://www.stefanieharman.com will soon be profiling me on their site …… and I’d better stop here before somebody gets upset and decides to shoot me ….. (chuckle!) …. Oh wait–one more thing: October Gallery’s (premiere AfAm art gallery in Philly) PAINT Magazine is going to publish an interview with me sometime this fall and the South Jersey chapter of the Coalition of 100 Black Women will be featuring me at one of their meetings, possibly in October 2007 ….. Now I will hush up …..
