Young Poets Contest & Reading

Contest Deadline: 2010 deadline passed, 2011 deadline TBD (March)

For all school age residents of Delaware County, grades 1 - 12.

Awards Event:    Sunday, April 25, 2010, 1:00 p.m.
                        Redwood Community Playhouse
                        Upland, Pa [Map]

At the awards event, we will distribute the prizes and award certificates, and the winners will read their poems.

Contest Guidelines

Original poems must be typed or written neatly on 8 1/2 by 11 paper, no odd size or construction paper, please.

Info must include:

  • Student's name
  • Address
  • Home Phone number
  • Grade
  • School
  • School District

If all info is not listed, entry will be disqualified. No entries will be returned. Only one poem per student may be entered.  Poems will be judged by grade level.  

Prizes will include savings bonds for first place winners & publication in a booklet for all 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. Winners will be notified. Please, do not call for results after poems are submitted.
