Contest Guidelines

Entry fee: $10.00 minimum fee for up to six poems. (Check payable to "Mad Poets Society.") You may send 12 poems for $20, etc.
Send two (2) copies of each poem, with contact info on only one copy (name, address, phone number and email address. Entries will be disqualified if contact info appears on all copies, or if adequate contact info is not included). Poems are judged anonymously. Judge will receive copy with no identification.
You may submit the same poems to the contest and to the magazine. However, the Editor & MPR staff do not review the poetry for inclusion in the magazine. The poems are sorted and sent directly to the judge.
Previously unpublished work only. NO SIMULTANEOUS SUBMISSIONS.
Each poem should be on a separate page, typed or printed neatly.
Winners will be published in the Mad Poets Review. All rights revert to author after publication.
All themes and styles of poetry are welcome, no line limit, but poems may not exceed 1 page, no more than 60 characters on a line, including spaces (due to magazine page size limitations).
Contest reading period is January 1 through August 15. Submissions received after Aug 15th will be returned.
Include 2-3 sentences about yourself for the bio notes section.
Include a stamped, self-addressed envelope for a winners list.
Winners will read their winning poems at the Mad Poets Review book party at the Delaware County Institute of Science.
No corrections can be made after submission.
Entries will not be returned following the contest, they will be destroyed. Send copies. No
