Madalina Meirosu is a poet and translator who works from and among English, German, and Romanian.

In her day job as Visiting Assistant Professor of German at Swarthmore College, Madalina specializes in comparative approaches to nineteenth-century political and social thought in German literature. She also has expertise in contemporary migration literature, the Medical Humanities, and Women and Gender Studies. Her current research project explores the political undertones of nineteenth-century literature featuring artificial humanoids. (One publication is entitled "The Eloquence of Automata" - which is already poetry!)

Adam J. Sorkin, recently described by Asymptote Journal as a “star translator,” has published *sixty-five* books of contemporary Romanian literature in English. His recent books include The Hunchbacks’ Bus by Nora Iuga, translated in collaboration with Diana Manole (Bitter Oleander Press, 2016), which was longlisted for the 2017 National Translation Award in Poetry; A Deafening Silence by Magda Cârneci, translated with Mădălina Bănucu and the poet (Shearsman Books, 2017); The Barbarians’ Return by Mircea Dinescu, translated with Lidia Vianu (Bloodaxe Books, 2018); and in 2020, three collections: A Spider's History of Love by Mircea Cărtărescu, translated with seven co-translators (New Meridian Arts), Lavinia and Her Daughters by Ioana Ieronim, translated with the author (Červená Barva Press), and The God's Orbit by Aura Christi, translated with Petru Iamandi (Mica Press).
