Ok Zoomers - Kearns, McMillian, Moll, and Taneyhill

OK Zoomers returns in 2023 with another exciting night of poetry. This virtual event will feature reading from Rick Kearns, Franetta McMillian, Anthony Moll, and Mark Taneyhill, and will take place on Monday January 23rd 7-9 PM. an open mic will follow the featured readers.

Bios
Rick Kearns (aka Kearns-Morales) is a writer and teacher of Puerto Rican and European heritage from Harrisburg, Pa. His poems have appeared in over 70 literary publications, most in the US but a few in Ireland, UK, Puerto Rico, and Argentina. He was named Poet Laureate of Harrisburg in 2014. Kearns has collaborated with musical accompaniment since 1992. Kearns is also a freelance journalist. As a journalist he has written for daily, weekly and monthly news publications since 1986. In the 21st century his work has focused on Latino and Native American issues. From 2006 to 2017 Kearns wrote about indigenous Latin American issues for “Indian Country Today” which became Indian Country Today Media Network, the nation’s largest Native American news publication.

Franetta McMillian has been writing ever since her mother taught her how to hold a pencil. Her writing and artwork have been featured in Quartet, Dreamstreets, Gargoyle, The Broadkill Review, H2S04, as well as other print and online publications. She also publishes the zine Fat Black Girl in a Wheelchair. She splits her time between Avondale, PA, and Newark, DE, crossing the border only at night.

Anthony Moll is a queer poet, essayist and educator. They are the author of Out of Step: A Memoir, which won the Lambda Literary Award and the Non/Fiction Collection Prize. Their latest book, You Cannot Save Here, won the Jean Feldman Poetry Prize and was recently released by Washington Writers' Publishing House. They are an assistant professor of English at a college in Maryland. Anthony holds an MFA in Creative Writing & Publishing Arts, and they are wrapping up their dissertation for a PhD in English. 


Mark Taneyhill - Mark Taneyhill is a trial lawyer currently living in Newark, Delaware. He enjoys attending local poetry readings and has been sharing his poetry for over twenty-five years.
