Young Poets Competition

The Mad Poets Society Young Poets Competition aims to inspire and motivate young people to write poetry. We believe it is important that children learn from a young age that poetry is for everyone.

Early each year, students can submit their poems for consideration - the deadline for entries is usually in March. The poems are then judged by some of the area’s finest poets, and the winners are announced. An awards ceremony takes place at the Redwood Community Playhouse, where the winners read their poems and receive their prize. In total, 36 prizes are given: first, second, and third place for each grade level.
